LGBTQ Tourism Marketing Summary 2019

Learn More This summer, we've had the opportunity to work on some incredible LGBTQ tourism-focused campaigns, utilizing the full range of our capabilities, from hyper-targeting LGBTQ travelers living in specific parts of the world and wishing to travel to our client's destinations, to influencer and #ILoveGay marketing programs, leveraging strong content and the power of social media to spread our client's messages far and wide while still targeting LGBTQ travelers.

Client Summary: Disney Music Group's Out Artist Morgxn

Learn More We recently had the opportunity to work with the team at Hollywood Records, which is part of the Disney Music Group, to promote some of their LGBTQ music artists for the Pride 2019 season. The goal was stronger awareness of both their LGBTQ musical artists, and their Pride 2019 performance schedule all throughout the US.

LGBTQ Destination Influencer Programs

Take a look at some of the programs we managed with destinations recently, incorporating LGBTQ influencer content with targeted Facebook & Twitter advertising.

  • Whistler Pride 2018 Was Over The Top, with LGBTQ Influencers in the Mix
We had the opportunity to be a part of Whistler Pride 2018 (#WhistlerPride2018), produced by Dean Nelson and the folks at Tourism Whistler, with a wide variety of incredible partners along the way.

Before the event even started, we put together a mini-LGBTQ Influencer and New Media Conference... Matt Skallerud of Pink Media presented on some of the latest in LGBTQ Digital Marketing in 2018, including some updates on the #ILoveGay network. We then launched into a panel with some of the LGBTQ influencers Tourism Whistler was hosting for this event, including the Nomadic Boys, Kit Williamson and John Halbach of Eastsiders TV, the Couple of Men, and Vancouver new media socialites Josh Rimer and Barb Snelgrove.

  • Arielle & Vinny Explore Toronto
Inspired by the recent campaign The Views are Different Here, we join Arielle Scarcella and Vinny Vaillancourt as they explore Toronto's gay village, including the iconic Woody's bar, as well as some of the new areas the LGBT community is hanging out in, including Queen Street West and a unique lesbian hangout, Tot the Cat Cafe.

  • Arielle, Ravi & Vinny Explore Fort Lauderdale
Join us as we tour Fort Lauderdale through the eyes of three LGBTQ influencers, Arielle Scarcella, Vinny Vaillancourt and Ravi Roth.

Small Business Programs

A very typical campaign we do for small businesses, incorporating a simple video production, blog posting for strong Google search indexing, embedded social media to maximize the power of these posts and to increase our client's social media followers.

  • Historical Walking Tours of Buenos Aires
We've heard some great testimonials over the years from folks we know taking various historical walking tour of Buenos Aires, so we decided it was time to meet up with Marcelo Mansilla of Cicerone BA and find out for ourselves!

LGBTQ Influencer Programs

  • Comcast California and San Francisco Pride 2018
Comcast California and San Francisco Pride 2017
After a successful San Francisco Pride in 2017, Comcast CA decided to come back to San Francisco Pride for 2018 with the ambitious plan of leveraging the different touch points that Comcast / Xfinity / NBC Universal had to offer.

  • Ty and John-David Hit Richmond's Fire, Flour & Fork
We had the unique pleasure of having two of our LGBT influencers, Ty Autry and John-David Brown, attend the 2017 Fire, Flour & Fork culinary event in Richmond, Virginia. Fire, Flour & Fork celebrates the best the Richmond region has to offer: its complex history, its rich artistic community and its established and rising culinary stars. The events included a curated mix of dining events, behind-the-scenes tours, demonstrations, talks from food and beverage producers, cookbook authors, chefs, bartenders and bakers.

  • Shane Ortega, and Transgender Rights in the Military
Take a look at one of our #ILoveGay LGBTQ influencers, Shane Ortega... when the Tweet came down from Donald Trump regarding the ban on transgenders in the military, Shane was on Rolling Stone magazine, MSNBC with Rachel Maddow, Fox News, Mic and a whole host of other media covering this story on that fateful day July 27, 2017.

  • BudLight Celebrating Friendship, Community & Pride
BudLight put together a series of four inspiring videos, with interviews including a lesbian couple, a trans woman from Egypt, two African-American friends fighting homophobia, and a recent transplant from Miami to NYC. We helped them get these videos out there to the niche LGBTQ communities each video was created to speak to, including @IHeartLesbian, @IHeartQPOC, @IHeartTrans and @ILoveGayNYC.

  • Laguna & Orange County Pride
We had 3 LGBTQ influencers on this trip, sponsored and hosted by the folks at Visit Laguna. They captured content and footage throughout the entire weekend, including both Orange County Pride and the Laguna Beach Pride Party held on Sunday, June 25th. This content was brought together into a single blog post, which was then promoted via Facebook & Twitter's hyper-targeted advertising opportunities, reaching a focused LGBT audience that has shown a distinct interest in Laguna Beach and Orange County events and activities.

Case Studies and Projects We've Done

  • Spain Tourism LGBT Online Marketing 2016
With so many world-class destinations marketing themselves to the LGBT traveler today, it's important for some of these destinations to stand out amongst the crowd. For these select few, the following is a 3-pronged approach to doing just that, with a strategy developed over the past few years that taps into the growth of targeted, programmatic ad buying, along with the maturation and overall acceptance of social media in society today.

  • Gay Games 9
For the most recent Gay Games 9 held in Cleveland this past summer, the folks from Positively Cleveland, through their ad agency, contacted us for a comprehensive online campaign that targeted gays & lesbians in specific target markets considered strong candidates for Gay Games attendees coming to Cleveland. Our regional target markets included Fort Lauderdale, Toronto, Detroit and Columbus, and our overall theme for social media outreach were self-identified fans of LGBT sports, as well as LGBT individuals with an interest in sports.
